Course Memo

This course provides a survey of psychology as both a social and a biological science and covers the general principles and basic methods and facts of general psychology. An emphasis in the course is on the development of critical thinking skills and the analysis of controversial issues in the field. Topics include: research methods and fields, the biological basis of behavior, sensation and perception, drug use and abuse, developmental psychology, social psychology, cognitive psychology, learning and memory, personality theory, psychological assessment, abnormal behavior, and therapy. (Meets specific prerequisite for both major programs.)
